The 2000 team was in my opinion one of the best teams. Shane Trickey was a classy player who could score at will. Bobby Massey was an athletic lefty. Kelley Wartes and Nolan Cornelius were quick as lightning bringing the ball up. Brandon Howard did everything right. Sixth man Freddy Martinez was a defensive display. An overall great team who didn't lose til their 18th game of the season. The record that year was 35- 3. Great games displayed by this team.

An additional comment: The season ended in Blinn College at the hands of Moulton a powerhouse in the late 90's and early 2000's. It was the regional semi-finals, and the final score was 65 to 58. Trickey had 27 points leading all scorers.
