After winning the Area Championship, the girls were defeated in the regional quarterfinals by Crowell. The Lady Indians' season record was 16-17 reflecting a very tough pre-district schedule which proved beneficial in district.
Toy Pendergrass was named district "Defensive Player of the Year," and Meranda Gaston was named "Offensive Player of the Year." Coach Humphrey was named "Coaches of the Year" along with Strawn's Joe Crabb. The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches named Meranda Gaston and Toy Pendergrass to the All-Region team. In addition, Meranda Gaston was named to the All-State team by the TABC.
